AnchorCV ("we", "our", or "us") operates the website anchorcv.com and the AnchorCV Chrome Extension. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the service:

• Account information: Your email address and password (hashed) when you register.
• Resume text: The text content extracted from your uploaded CV, stored securely to enable repeated use without re-uploading.
• Job description text: The job description you paste or extract from a job page. This is used only to generate your cover letter or email and is not stored permanently.
• Usage data: A count of how many times you have used the extension per day, to enforce the daily usage limit.
• Payment status: Whether your subscription is active. We do not store card numbers or payment details — these are handled entirely by Lemon Squeezy.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your session
• To generate AI-powered cover letters and emails using your CV and job description
• To enforce usage limits and verify Premium subscription status
• To send transactional emails (e.g. password reset)

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Chrome Extension — Data Practices

The AnchorCV Chrome Extension accesses the following:

• Active tab content: The extension reads job description text from the currently open job posting page (LinkedIn, Indeed, JobsDB, Glassdoor) only when you click "Extract from Page". It does not read or monitor any other pages.
• Cookies: A session cookie is used to authenticate your AnchorCV account within the extension. No third-party cookies are set or read.
• Storage: Local browser storage is used only to remember your login state between browser sessions.

The extension does not collect browsing history, personal communications, location data, or any data unrelated to generating cover letters and emails.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase, a secure cloud database hosted in the EU. We use HTTPS for all data transmission. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We retain your CV text only as long as your account is active.

5. Third-Party Services

• OpenAI: Job descriptions and CV text are sent to the OpenAI API to generate cover letters. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to this data processing.
• Lemon Squeezy: Handles all payment processing. We receive only your subscription status.
• Supabase: Database and authentication provider.

6. Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will process deletion requests within 14 days.
